In 2009, Norwood was cast in the East Enders internet spin-off series East Enders: E20 as Fatboy.
From the age of 12 he attended the Theatre Royal Stratford East's Youth Theatre, and also studied Performing Arts at Barking College.
With friends, Norwood started a production company, writing, producing and starring in five original productions which were performed at the Theatre Royal Stratford.
After launching his Twitter account ahead of his exit, Norwood wrote: "Bye fat's..!! East Enders viewers watched in shock last night as Vincent decided against telling Ronnie what she had done - instead leading her to believe that the thugs she hired had just taken her money and ran.
Co-stars Rita Simons and Tameka Empson said their goodbyes to him online, too, with Rita - who plays Roxy Mitchell - saying: "Gotta tell u @Ricky JNorwood is one of the nicest, kindest true gents I've ever had the pleasure of working with #Rip Fats #You The Man".
He will film his final scenes next week but show bosses aren’t giving away any details on when his exit will air just yet.
